Here’s What I Think You Should Do

Ok, there’s no such thing as a ‘one size fits all’ answer on to how to book or manage your CD project. Hold on a moment…let me check the Digidesign™ website……………………………… nope, no plug-in for that yet. But if you can’t afford to completely record and mix your CD at a real studio, there are some key parts of the project that you should consider a real room for. The most important one would be the drum tracks. A day or two in the proper room and you will be miles ahead. Heck, you probably won’t have to replace all the drums with samples! Wouldn’t that be nice?  After a couple of days tracking drums then it’s back to your Logic or M-Box™ for days and days of bass, guitar and vocal overdubs. If you can’t come back for guitar tracks, then maybe a few hours re-amping your guitar DI tracks through real tube amps. Ah, real drums with real guitars! Then, possibly a final mix in an accurate room. Never worked in an accurate room? You owe yourself if you haven’t. Read my blog on this subject. It will help your project.
